Seminere ilgilenen herkes davetlidir.

Özet

Computer Vision Beyond the Visible Spectrum is an exponentially growing field. It involves deep theoretical research in sub-areas of image processing, machine vision, machine learning, pattern recognition, robotics, and augmented reality. It also presents a suitable framework for building solid advanced vision based system. In this presentation I aim at discussing IR computer vision, especially on tracking and recognition algorithms. Two recently published studies on IR vs. Visual tracking methods (CVPR-W-2015) and a silhouette based recognition (IET-CV-2015) framework will be presented.

Biografi

Erdem Akagündüz was born in İzmir, Turkey, in 1979. He received the B.S., M.S and Ph.D degrees in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the Middle East Technical University (METU), Ankara, Turkey, in 2001, 2004 and 2011, respectively. From 2001 to 2008, he was a Research and Teaching Assistant with the METU Computer Vision and Intelligent Systems Laboratory. He visited the Computer Science Department at the University of York, UK between 2008-2009 as a Research Associate. From 2009 to early 2016 he worked as a Computer Vision Scientist with the Department of Electro-Optical Systems Design Engineering ASELSAN, building computer vision algorithms for real-time tracking, detection and recognition systems. Recently he is moving back to the University of York as a research associate to study image memorability. His research interests include Infrared Computer Vision, Object/Target Recognition/Tracking and Machine Learning.
