Seniha Esen Yuksel is an associate professor at the Hacettepe University, Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering.
She is also the director of the Pattern Recognition and Remote Sensing Laboratory,
PARRSLAB ,
where she is doing research on machine learning and computer vision with applications in defense and medical industry.
Dr. Yuksel received her Ph.D. in 2011 from the
CSI:Florida Lab,
Department of Computer and Information Science and Engineering at the
University of Florida;
her M.Sc. degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the
CVIP Lab,
University of Louisville, in 2005; and her
B.Sc. degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the
Middle East Technical University in 2003.
Over the past years, PARRSLAB has been funded largely by Tubitak (the national science foundation of Turkey), and has several ongoing projects with companies in the defense industry.
Her latest projects include fusion of hyperspectral and lidar data, target detection from ground penetrating radar data, landmine and explosives detection, and medical image processing.
Her research interests include machine learning, computer vision, medical imaging, statistical data analysis and applied math.
