Undergraduate Level
The Electrical and Electronics Engineering Department of Hacettepe University offers BS degree in its undergraduate education program.
The department has been founded in 1974 and the first engineers have graduated in 1978.
Turkish Nationals need to obtain a sufficient score in the MF-4 category of the nationwide University Entrance Examination administered by OSYM. International student admission is carried out according to the regulations set forth by the HU Registrar's Office.
Within the first three years, undergraduate students take various courses to gain certain skills and the theoretical background in all essential areas of electrical and electronics engineering. In their senior year, they have the opportunity to specialize in the above subjects by electing the appropriate courses.
The medium of instruction is English in the undergraduate level and those students who fail the English proficiency examination study in the preparatory school run by Hacettepe University School of Foreign Languages before they begin with the department.

Graduate Level
The department offers both MS and PhD degrees in the graduate education.
The graduate program in the Electrical and Electronics Engineering Department was initiated in 1976. Students can choose one of the following areas to specialize in: Communication Systems, Digital Signal Processing, Electromagnetics and Microwave Techniques, Control Systems, Computers and Computer Networks, Microelectronics, Biomedical Engineering, Electrical Machines and Power Systems. Students take courses in their areas of interest and work on their theses under the supervision of a faculty member.
The medium of instruction is Turkish. However, applicants have to be successful in an English proficiency exam in order to be admitted to the program. The higher body responsible of all graduate education in Engineering in Hacettepe University is the Graduate School of Science and Engineering. Hence, graduate student admission and graduate education are carried out in accordance with the rules and regulations set forth by the school.
