Prof. Dr. Özlem Özgün receives Hacettepe Science Award in science and engineering

Our faculty member, Prof. Dr. Özlem Özgün, has received the 2023 Hacettepe Science Award in the field of science and engineering. Dr. Özgün received her award from the Speaker of the Turkish Grand National Assembly, Prof. Dr. Numan Kurtulmuş, and Hacettepe University Rector Prof. Dr. Mehmet Cahit Güran at the award ceremony held during Hacettepe University’s 2024-2025 Opening Event on October 30, 2024. Dr. Özgün was deemed worthy of the Hacettepe Science Award for her significant scientific contributions to the development of efficient and cost-effective simulation software for microwave and radar technologies by developing innovative numerical modeling techniques in computational electromagnetics, as well as for her high-quality publications and scientific book.
The primary purpose of the Hacettepe Awards, introduced with the Hacettepe University Awards Directive adopted at the Hacettepe University Senate session on January 8, 1992 (Resolution No. 92-9), is to support researchers’ scientific studies, regardless of their university affiliation, to share their exceptional qualities and achievements with society, and to honor their lifelong achievements or contributions in service to society.
