Postdoctoral Researcher, August 2011 - August 2012,
Materials Science and Engineering Department, University of Florida, Gainesville, FL, USA
- Developed tools for hyper-spectral data classification for the detection of explosive materials by differential reflection spectroscopy.
- Combined end-member detection techniques with traditional classifiers.
|
|
Research Assistant, 2007 - August 2011,
Computational Science & Intelligence Lab, University of Florida, Gainesville, FL, USA.
- Worked on Landmine Detection using Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) and Wide-band Electro-magnetic Induction (WEMI) data.
- Implemented a fusion algorithm of GPR and WEMI confidence values using Hierarchical Mixture of Experts that significantly increased the classification rates while providing insightful results.
- Implemented the Variational Mixture of Experts algorithm for multi-class classification and derived a lower bound for it to prevent over-training.
- Developed a context-based classification model for time-series sequences.
- Developed a novel model based on multiple instance learning for the context-based classification of time-series data with ambiguous features.
- Developed models for explosive detection from hyper-spectral data for the Hummel lab.
|
|
Research Assistant, 2006 - 2007, Center for Vision, Graphics and Medical Imaging, University of Florida, Gainesville, FL, USA.
- Worked on a project to validate the fiber paths from DT-MRI with histology fluoroscopy images obtained from a rat brain stem.
- Implemented a vesselness algorithm to enhance the visualization of fibers in fluoroscopy images.
- Implemented a level-set algorithm to segment the fibers from fluoroscopy images, and matched these fibers to the DT-MRI fibers using point-set registration.
|
|
Research Assistant, 2003 - 2005, Computer Vision and Image Processing Lab, University of Louisville, Louisville, KY, USA.
- Developed image processing methods for the detection of acute rejection after kidney transplantation.
- Prepared a Kidney Image Analysis Software using C++/ITK/Qt that performs registration, segmentation and classification.
- Developed a shape based segmentation method for kidney segmentation.
