ABSTRACT
Turkey has a remarkable offshore wind power capacity which can be utilized for the green energy transition policies of the country in near future. Offshore wind power plant (OWPP) technology can enable the integration of large-scale power plants into the Turkish electric grid. The integration of large-scale OWPPs may lead to serious problems in the Turkish power system such as voltage and frequency stability problems and harmonic stability problems.
WindFlag research project aims to investigate the integration of a large-scale offshore wind power plant (OWPP) into the Turkish electric grid while ensuring system stability, performance, and coordination. This project is conducted by a consortium consisting of universities and private sector companies from both Turkey and Denmark and the Turkish Transmission System Operator (TEİAŞ).
In this seminar, the project studies will be introduced and the outcomes of the project will be shared with the auidiance.
