Our senior students awarded financial support by TUBITAK for their visible light communication project

Our undergraduate students Mr. Ali Yasin CAKILCI and Mr. Gokhan YALNIZ were awarded a financial support by the National Science Foundation of Turkey (TUBITAK) for their project titled as "Visible Light Communication". The project is supervised by Dr. Cenk TOKER.
The aim of the project is to achieve a short-range data communication using visible light. Since the sources of the data transfer and the ordinary ambient lighting is the same the system is thought to be cosiderably efficient. The bottleneck stemmed from the current frequency spectrum, health and security concerns and, most importantly, the need of high data rates will make visible light communication a strong candiate for next generation short-range communication systems.
